Macedonia displeased with Brussels’ decision

Skopje. Macedonia is not happy with the decision of the EU as it failed to get a date for the start of membership talks with the EU, but it would not give up the process of EU integration and the negotiations for solving the name dispute with Greece, the Macedonian Dnevnik daily comments.

“Up to now, Greece did not want such a solution; it put conditions, which no government could accept. During my talks with the Greek Prime Minister Georgious Papandreou I said that he would not find a government that could fulfil his conditions over the next 100 years,” Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski had stated.

According to him, the decision of the EU to discuss during the Spanish EU Council Presidency the issue about setting a date for the start of the pre-accession talks with Macedonia is a kind of a compromise on behalf of Greece, but this compromise means nothing, since the word ‘date’ is missing.
