Future of Kosovo must be decided by UN
PRISTINA -- UN Security Council Chairman Ole Peter Kolby said that the decision about the future of Kosovo will be decided by the UN Security Council following consultations with all relevant parties.
At a reception in Pristina on Saturday evening he said that the UN are looking at three key questions: standards before status, multi-ethnicity and integration.
He said the people of Kosovo still have a long way to go to satisfy these points. Verbal assurances are not sufficient.
"Nothing would leave a better impression on the international community than the sizeable and maintained return of displaced persons", said Kolby.
He added that the Albanians, as the ethnic majority have to take on the responsibility of the security of the minorities.
