Police attacked in South Serbia
BUJANOVAC -- Unidentified culprits, reportedly from Kosovo, attacked a police checkpoint in the village of Dobrosin, 16 kilometres west of Bujanovac.
Yesterday at about 5 am, the attacks came from the village of Podgradje and shot at the police base with an automatic weapon from a distance of 100 metres. No one was injured in the attack.
One bullet went through the side of a garbage can and ricocheted several times, but no police officers were hit. There are members of the Serbia-Montenegro military, the Vranje police department and KFOR staying at the base.
The Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedje Liberation Army was formed in Dobrosin in 2000.
ticized Kosovo's Serb minority for failing to actively participate in local government and called on Belgrade to encourage the local Serbs to do so.
